As Keith has already said, let us reiterate the fact. Tonight - TopicsExpress

As Keith has already said, let us reiterate the fact. Tonight brings the chance of some severe weather here in the Southern region. A stalled front will fire up some storms through the overnight hours. Though we arent expecting a large outbreak of severe weather, there will be severe cells that fire up as the night progresses. The main threat for these storms will be damaging winds, hail, and frequent cloud to ground lightning, though we cant rule out the possibility of tornadoes, the likelihood is on the slim side. This is all part of a a derecho sliding to the south/southeast. Again, the tornado threat is slim, but there is the possibility of a few spin ups through the night hours. So please be prepared as the deadliest times for tornadoes to strike is in the overnight hours, as they are hard to see coming, and most are asleep. The south doesnt have a torcon tornado risk index, but we will remain alert due to the fact that the possibility is there and it is the over night hours. Stay tuned for important updates as the storms start to fire up shortly. -Chad Jackson
