Sinn Fein voters are angered at Pearce Doherty and other senior - TopicsExpress

Sinn Fein voters are angered at Pearce Doherty and other senior figures within Sinn Fein who cannot find it in their hearts to stand in solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of people who are unemployed, on sick pay, disability, poor wages and on forced labour schemes. The reality of their announcement is that they are trying to be all things to all classes. This gives mixed messages and certainly does not show leadership at a time when it is badly needed during a campaign to get rid of water taxes and a move towards the selling off of “Our Water” to greedy multinational companies. Sinn Fein says that if they are in government they will scrap the water tax and that this is the only way to defeat it. This certainly is not a message that will empower a community to organise and feel that we have the ability to bring real change. Instead it is sending a negative message to us the people, that real power only lays in the hands of the politicians. So let us send a clear message to the politically ambitious within our community who are striving to become the political elite of this state. That we do have the power and that we are going to organise to defeat these unjust taxes and their moves towards privatising our water. Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay!
