As The Newsroom winds down into its final stretch, I find it remarkably bittersweet. One the fact that a show Im certain had a couple more good seasons in it is ending. Two, that Aaron Sorkin is done with television. Seriously, if this guy did The Jetsons meet Keeping Up with the Cardasians, it would still be the most riveting hour of television in the last five years. And this show isnt even him at his best. The worst episode of any television show hes ever done is better than anything CBS or FOX is airing Monday through Friday. And it isnt like he wont be working at all. Steven Spielberg, David Fincher, Paul Greengrass or the Houdini Musical hes creating with Danny Elfman, its not like hes going into retirement.
