As a child, I grew up listening to stories from my dad about one of his older brothers, my uncle Johnny, who served multiple tours in our U.S. Armed Forces. The horror stories about his mental state of mind and difficulty in trying to readjust upon returning from service were atrocious! Back then (1950s-60s), there wasnt much known about PTSD, nor was there much help for mental trauma caused by their service experience, as there is today in this day and age. I find it quite disturbing to see and hear of cases, such as Andrew Tahmooressis, where our government can turn a blind eye and not intervene. Yet, there was no hesitation earlier this year in releasing 5 of the Talibans top commanders in exchange for the return of the US Army Traitor (I cant call him soldier--this is too grand of a title for him), Bowe Bergdahl, who had been in captivity since 2009 in Afghanistan; nor when they quietly released 12 jihad terrorists in the Spring of this year. God bless our men and women serving our country and all who have served. I cant thank them and their families enough for their sacrifices and commitment to protecting our nation. Theyve gone to bat for us, now its time to do the same for them!!
