As a single person, I think I speak for other single people when I - TopicsExpress

As a single person, I think I speak for other single people when I say sometimes it just down right sucks to be single. We are always stuck with the worst work shifts on Valentines Day. There are no trips or special, romantic meals for our anniversary. Some of us choose to put our hearts on our sleeves and our thoughts on your monitors via Facebook. Others keep our thoughts to ourselves and pretend to be fierce, independent wolves of life. As I almost always fall into the latter category (hear me howl), groveling is not what this is post about. I can say with the utmost of certainty that the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve are absolutely the most wonderful time of the year to be single. Yes. I am referring to shopping season. While I have put shopping off until the last possible moment again this year, there is so much less stuff that I think of, hunt down, purchase, and have wrapped. It is like I save 15% or more by switching to sad and lonely. The fact that I have no children adds to the rebate. So lift your heads up single people of the world. Remember in a month and a half, you wont be shelling out cash (or plastic) for two dozens roses and a filet while youre still trying to factor in all the stuff you bought for Christmas with April 15th looming in the near future. This is not tongue in cheek pessimism. There is someone out there for everyone. One day we will all find someone who we will be happy to go into debt for their happiness. Until then, join the blissful ignorance. Merry Christmas losers!
