As a state licensed Life and Health insurance agent, I have spent numerous hours studying and qualifying to offer coverage under the next wave of the Affordable Care Act. Currently, 52% of Americans are adamantly opposed to this legislation, and for good cause. We are already seeing the devastating effects this law is producing on the full-time employees of many businesses nationwide. There is underway a strategic shift for employers offering full time employment to part time employment in order to be fiscally solvent and forced to pay the excessive premiums on the part of their respective employees. Inevitably, this places the costs on the part-time worker, not the employer. Do not blame the employers or companies taking this action. In a continuing sluggish economy, incredible debt spending and unparalleled unemployment since the Great Depression, each business must do what is necessary to survive and remain solvent. Simply put, this bill is a job-killing machine. Our arrogant President is currently assuming a “no compromise” posture with regard to this law’s implementation or its guaranteed negative impact on our economy and the lives of our citizens. Currently it has been reported even as recent as this morning that the cost of healthcare is and will continue to rise as this law takes its full measure. I am deeply troubled by the easily foreseeable consequences to our nation, its economy and its citizenry which are obvious to what the liberal agenda is creating, that being a perpetual welfare state with more and more governmental control over our lives and the opportunity for individual achievement and prosperity, aka the American dream. Those who support this legislation and this President’s agenda are either ignorant of the facts or simply traitors to the Constitution and the American way of life. Wake up people, your very lives, your future and that of your children are on the line.
