As covered by mainphrame, pit bull hero stories are often hoaxes which are completely made up to try and strum up positive press for the breed. You will find that most of the time the people who claim these stories are also heavily involved in pit bull advocacy. Here we have exposed hoaxes like: thedamienzone/…/pitbull-saves-women-from-cobra-…/ snopes/critters/gnus/straypitbull.asp Then we have totally implausible, why the hell did the media run this crap like this where most in some cases the pit bull most likely attacked a stranger or member of the family and then they say it actually saved them from a cougar like this one - kirotv/…/agents-couple-blames-cougar-…/nKRsF/ An often recurring theme is no witnesses, no suspects ever caught and nothing more than the word of the reporting person or pit bull owner. This one here is one of the most ridiculous I have ever heard. I would bet anything this womans pit bull either attacked a man on a bicycle and she done a pre-emptive police report or this was just a totally fake story to strum up positive press. archive.news10.net/…/Pit-bull-saves-owner-from-suspe…- It is a shame reporters do not verify sources or look deeper into the matter. Pit bull advocates expect everyone to demand dna testing and video tape proof when there are multiple witnesses to a pit bull attack in the news yet they expect everyone to totally believe these fluff stories solely on their word. Keep in mind this is the same people who swear up and down pit bulls used to be baby sitters and other ridiculous myths so any person with common sense would take anything they say with a grain of salt.
