As it turns out, the reason that the wife of Robin Williams did not notice that he had hung himself in the middle of the night was that they were sleeping in separate bedrooms, and she thought he was sleeping in the next morning. Their marriage must have been disintegrating – because why would you sleep in a separate bedroom if you love somebody who was depressed? - and perhaps she told him she was leaving him, or he felt this was imminent, and simply could not face another financial and emotional evisceration in the American family court system...
