As many of you know, I worked for Lifetime Fitness for almost 9 - TopicsExpress

As many of you know, I worked for Lifetime Fitness for almost 9 years and also the YMCA where I worked for 15 years and who sponsored me to this country and in that time I developed close relationships with members and staff alike. As a MANIC Step instructor I saw members gleefully attend classes that took themselves away from step and were trendy and in at the time, such as Kickbox Jam, Zumba and others I have no time to repeat they are so many, yet Step stayed the course despite the in popularity of other group exercise classes that fade away with time. In that history of step you have members that stand the test of time and are loyal. Every week. Every month. Every year. These are rare members that become more than just members. They become friends. And perhaps not, even though you see them every time in class. Dave was one such member. I met Dave at Lifetime Fitness in Romeoville, my FAMILY. He used to attend my Step class on Sunday morning and was old school, another reason why I loved him!! He would turn up every week without fail and had his spot, left corner, front row (from me, mirror teaching) and if God forbid, I subbed, he would complain. A LOT. LOL I have not thought about him in a long time since leaving Lifetime yet I recently heard from another member and friend that Dave had died from cancer and I was shocked and saddened. He was not old, yet somehow cancer got to him. I dont know why I feel so bad about Dave, maybe perhaps because I always felt he was alone, and maybe I didnt see it?...and did nothing?...and this feeling that I got that he was lonely, which I hate upon anyone and the thought that he died alone, devastates me, because he was always so fun and genuinely a nice person. I guess I just want to say Hey Dave, I loved having you in class and you meant more to me than just being a class member...rest in peace my friend, hi lo forever!
