As many of you know, our 4 year old son, Landon, was diagnosed - TopicsExpress

As many of you know, our 4 year old son, Landon, was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 1.5 years. He is our little miracle man! He has overcome so many obstacles since the day he was born at 3 lbs 10 oz. As its worst, Landon was having mini seizures every few minutes. After lots of time, testing, and medication he has been seizure free for about a year and a half. He continues to take daily doses of medication and goes through routine testing. He is such a strong little guy and does everything with a smile on his face. Throughout this process we have learned so much about Epilepsy. Here is some information that you might not know… Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder in the United States after migraine, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease. About one percent of Americans have some form of epilepsy, and nearly four percent (1 in 26) will develop epilepsy at some point in their lives. The number of Americans who have epilepsy is greater than the number who have multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and cerebral palsy combined. 10% of Americans will have at least one seizure at some point in their lives. Last year, Andy Makins and I decided to participate with the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan and its Summer Stroll. We raised money and had a fabulous team of walkers. This year, we are hoping to double our group. Please join us this year on June 28th at the Detroit Zoo and walk with the LANDONS LIZARDS team. We would love to have you and appreciate all of the love and support you all constantly give. If you cant walk, any donation is appreciated. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family. Thank you for even taking the time to read this and to visit the site. xo Kristen & Andy
