As many of you may know we have had a lot of rain. Much of Mexico - TopicsExpress

As many of you may know we have had a lot of rain. Much of Mexico is overwhelmed with mudslides that took out a lot of homes and roads. Communities are cut off, like those in Colorado. The news of course concentrates its reporting on big cities like Acapulco and Culiacan the capital of Sinaloa where Hurricane Manuel made the final landfall and the flooding in Veracruz and Tamaulipas where tropical storm Ingrid made landfall the same week as Hurricane Manuel. Both storms affected 2/3rds of the country with massive amounts of rain. They seems to converge in the center of Mexico and just dump on those communities. The problem is that it was not the only time it rained. the ground was already saturated from a very wet summer and there was just no place for the rain to go. So flooding was a big problem in the low lying areas and mudslides in the mountain areas. the state that got the worst mudslide damage was Oaxaca and Guerrero both on the pacific coast. It is a area of poor development and communities up in the mountains. When a road is washed out these communities are cut off completely. The people are rallying around the efforts to get food and supplies to those in need. Pray that they will go where its needed. The Government did admit that they are overwhelmed and that the disaster relief fund it not going to cover the needs of its citizens. But we have a God who can make 12 loafs of bread feed 5,000! So we ask that you pray for the poor people of Mexico and keep the corruption down to a minimum.
