As my close friends know I dont like asking people for help, but I will because this is for a cause greater than myself in many ways. As most of you know my business partner Leigh-Ann McDaniel Sullivan and myself are starting up Coyote Telescope Rental in Joshua Tree to provide something for campers to do at night in Joshua Tree National Park, and we also want to donate telescope time to civic-minded groups! While we have access to the funds to get us off the ground, we are asking for donations via Rocketup to help us purchase a trailer. The reason that we are asking for donations for the trailer is that it helps reduce our startup debt which in turn frees up telescopes that would otherwise be marked for rental to pay down said debt. When telescopes are freed up we donate their time for civic organizations like the Girl and Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts too. Last month I was contacted by a gentleman from the Wounded Warriors looking for ways that we can benefit them as well. The fact is we are going to find a way to support these groups regardless, even if it is in a more limited way. It would be nice to go all out though a few times a month.
