As promised, new solo vid has dropped early this morning! A few quick things: This song is clearly about being proud of who you are, and not letting other people, Christian or non Christian, tell you otherwise. However, I want to make it clear that this is not rebellion. Speaking from experience, the difference is that when you are working out of a spirit of rebellion, you are doing the opposite of being yourself. You are trying. When you just be and are yourself, you dont have to try. You just are. But sometimes that does involve choosing to ignore certain things that other people will insist would be better for you. Its impossible to know how to balance being yourself and saying no to other opinions without falling into the rebellious zone unless you actually know who God has created you to be, and WHY. God has brought me to a place where I realize he doesnt want me to just take people, rules, or ideas at face value. He doesnt want us to be spoon fed anything! We have the wrong concept of God when we think that its brainwash. He wants us to think. Really. I promise. Just like its frustrating for a child when his parents say no, and the reason is because I said so! For all those rules you think Christians have, if its not a rule you actually want to follow because hes revealed to you the reason, and a reason that is personal and unique to your own life, I encourage you to start asking questions! Thats what relationship is all about. Lastly, God really challenged me to let my playful side out with this dance. Because being silly and goofy is really a major part of who I am, but I always take dance so seriously, always worrying that other people wont get it or it wont be advanced enough to be good. But I really let that go with this one, and the chorus to this dance is one I legitimately have so much fun dancing, Im reminded again of why I do this. I have so many different sides and quirks to me: edgy, girly, tough, emotional, serious, goofy. Im blessed that I know my God wants it all. #cs_soloproject youtu.be/l1Efh0iM31s
