As we are at the end of another Supreme Court session, theres a thought I want to share. If theres anything I learned from three years of Law School and 20 years of being a lawyer, it is that the law is often imperfect and sometimes wrong. I learned that lesson during the short time I spent representing criminal defendants. The other thing I have learned is that legal issues are complicated, especially so when you are dealing with issues that courts have never dealt with before or which are the subject of disagreement even among attorneys with the highest levels of legal training and Judges who have been educated at the nations best Universities and Law Schools. There may be times when the right and wrong decision is blindingly obvious even to people without legal training. More often, it is the case that the issues are far more complicated than that. In either case, and speaking especially as an attorney who has been on the losing end of decisions as many times as Ive been on the winning side, if not more, I really have to say that I am appalled by the way the people react to decisions like Hobby Lobby, et al with obviously partisan bias. Unless you have an rational legal argument, I am not sure I want to hear what you have to say, and I am certain I dont want to hear politically biased bullshit
