( Ashley comes back to find her half evil sister cornella in her Kingdom uninvited. Trying to convince eol to convince Ashley to give up her crown... But its not so easy for the evil queen to do Chapter 16 While you were away (The witch came and saw me) Eol was sitting eating fruit, pondering whether to go on a hunt or go to the library, when a strange bird appeared on a nearby pillar. Eol looked up and he was bewildered on what he saw. It was black and evil looking. Then out of the blue a Cornella appeared. Eol drew his sword and stood up. “There is no need for that,” Cornella spoke. “I am not here to harm you, just to talk,” Cornella spoke softly.” In Eol strong voice said” you have no business enchantress, being here!” “Sure I do, I am the queen of all this realm.” answered Cornella, “I have come to speak to my sister,” She said. “No, you would not be here if Ashley was, you fear her,” Eol retorted. Cornella laughed and said, “The last thing I fear is her, she is but a child playing with toys.” Then Cornella then looked over the balcony. She observed with revulsion of all its flowers. “My sister really knows how to build her kingdom, doesn’t she Eol. The pretty blue sky and the sun and warmth, it just brings cheerfulness to my heart,” she said sarcastically. “And to the birds,” she said, “all the birds, blue jays and sparrows, red birds all different kinds, they are just so colorful and the scent oh it is too much. The buildings golden and silver, tall towers and small ones, and the great windows from floor to ceiling, they are made of marble. No matter how many times I have burnt it down her kingdom, she builds it back up even better,” Cornella said smugly. “She knows very well what her people desire, doesn’t she now,” she said sitting on balcony as she looked at Eol. “I could have sworn I saw an owl down by the mighty river and in the Redwood trees.” She spoke directly. Then Cornella turned to him, “you Know Eol, I am not really as evil as my sister tries to portray me,” She said to him. Eol scoffed, “OH really.” “I offer our freedom that we had until the humans came and took it over” Cornella grabbed a piece of fruit from the branch of a nearby tree. She was just standing there as if she was a mere guest, eating off Ashley’s magical apple tree. Eol got very upset; he did not understand what she was doing there. He was surprised that she was pleading her case to him. “I ask you again why have you come here sorceress? I have no obedience to you.” He scoffed again. “I don’t want to have to kill my own sister, but she needs to give up her plotting for my throne,” Cornella said. Then she looked upon the table and saw some lambras bread. “May I have some, it’s been a long time since I ate lambras, “She said. She began to stuff the bread in her mouth. Eol was beside himself. He could not believe she was really was sitting in front of him eating. It was quite a shock. “You know Eol, this is freshest Lambras bread I have ever tasted, I won’t be able to eat for a year, “Cornella said as she chewed. The lambras bread began to fall from her mouth. After she finished the bread she began to speak again. “I have committed no crimes.” Eol scoffed at her. “You have murder hundreds.” “Yes but it was in the battlefield,” Cornella argued. “You have killed humans,” in the name of our survival,” Eol accused her. “They have killed countless numbers of us, Eol, even your own kin. Besides the law that forbids killing humans, is in this land not the mortal world,” Cornella debated. “Well that is subject to your interpretations, not the guardians,” Eol continued to debate. The one thing Eol loved more than Ashley was good debate. He could ponder and debate for hours, even in some cases days if he wanted to. “Eol, you and Lorien need to accept that I am queen. There is not an army in this realm that will fight against me, or outnumber my men,” Cornella warned. At that moment Ashley raised her sword she had overheard her sister as soon as she walked through the door. Then Cornella Banished. Ashley went down the stairs to see if she was in or around the courtyard but she was not. Sure enough Cornella showed herself in the middle of the courtyard, turning from nasty crow into the evil crone. “People of this kingdom,” she announced. “You have a choice, follow this pretender queen or return to the lands we once inhabited as free elves, free magical creatures. Do not let mediocre human take over our home. We shall drive them out together, banish them, and join me,” Cornella shouted. The music in the courtyard stopped and the elves stood in aw surrounding the majestic Cornella. Ashley had a clear shot with her arrow, and she aimed it straight at her head, the feather tickled her chin. But Eol whispered “not here.” “No more bloodshed in our kingdom,” Eol spoke. This angered Ashley; she so much wanted to take her sister’s head off. “I am the rightful ruler of this tribe, a collective gasp echo in the courtyard. Most were unaware of the new authority. My sister Ashley would have you exiled forever to this land hiding in Enchantia from the humans as if we were the substandard ones. As if we were the plague. The humans are the plague. My sister stole my crown from me,” Cornella accused. Ashley could not bear it anymore; she was never one for speeches but she had no choice. “My fellow Redwood and Enchantians, Cornella is a murder. She not only murdered humans, but our own kind and other magical creatures. She as no other love but power and control, and unlike me she is a daughter of a Cimmerian king, the evil ones, they steal power from their victims, by drinking their blood, and then killing them,” She announced. Another collective gasp rang through the crowd. Eol was watching from the balcony chewing on more bread, in some way he found this quite entertaining. He never observed Ashley in a debate before. Her energy consumed him. Ashley and Cornella were face to face, they examined each. “I know what you seek Cornella; you want my blood, the blood of the divine. I am the daughter of the god Athos. Your will never be able to stomach it, it will kill you,” Ashley denounced. Another collective gasp ran out in the courtyard. Ashley could not believe she just said it out aloud. “Be careful dear sister you are losing composure,” Cornella cackled. The old crone was enjoying this very much. “What are you talking about sister, are you mad? That is ancient and a practice, barbaric, something our aunt Morianna did, never me,” Cornella countered. “I want my birthright and free from this place. I do not wish to harm you, really. I came here to seek unity and truce between us, not discord. Our dear brother head of the guardians would like that. Wouldn’t you?” Cornella stated. Another collective gasp, for people did not know that Aragoth was Ashley’s sibling, for it looked biased, her mother once said. Those that were around when she formed the guardians of destiny beginning with herself, were very old now, or passed to the whispering woods. It was not widely known until now. Ashley looked around at the company not knowing what to say or do. “Come dear sister let me keep my throne, for peace sake. For if you don’t everyone Enchantian will pay the price and suffer my wrath,” Cornella threatened. Ashley knew her heartfelt sentiments were a fraud. But she could not help but start to believe in them, until Cornella ruined it by threatening. Ashley replied,” your peace, is that what you say? But if I do not give you what you want you become angry and you will slaughter. That is not our way, that is not our law and you are not going to be queen much of anything for much longer. Your presence here was without an invitation. It as caused undo chaos,” Ashley gripped the switch of her sword once more as she finished. “Chaos for whom,” Cornella asked. “I thought speech was free here, I thought opinion could differ here,” Cornella laughed. “You are not to disturb my kingdom,” Ashley went for her sword and drew it. “Cornella, go back to which you came, you are never to step into the Enchanted Mountains again, neither you or your children or children’s children or any heirs as long as evil resides in the heart and in their blood, they are not to be permitted to dwell in this kingdom. As soon Aldora, Ashley daughter heard that she made her way to the stables and got on a horse and left her mother’s kingdom in a rush, Carrow notice but no one else. “That is very unfortunate sister for you,” Cornella whispered. With that Cornella disappeared. From the mountain top kingdom, the guardians sat in their palace. They watched and observed in secret the whole of the incident in the courtyard. Aragoth closed his eye as did the other eleven and the great barrier of magic was reformed once more along their territory; forbidden all evil to enter suddenly isolated the kingdom once more; Aragoth’s gift to his beloved sister. Ashley at once went into the great hall and demanded to know how Cornella got passed security. “Lady Ashley,” Argrod said, there was not any forces that could have stop Cornella from entertaining. It is very heard to track and cage a bird, Maiden.” Ashley was still not happy with his reply, but she let it go, a least that could not happen with the barrier back in place. She demanded her husband to tell her what happen once. “Ashley my love, she appeared to me as a black bird and perched herself on pillar while I was having lunch. She wanted me to join her, “Eol pleaded. Ashley looked at him speaking, “were you, convinced.” “NO of course not,” Eol said. He did find her sister rather curious. “She was erratic and not making sense. You need to be at peace with yourself, as refreshing as it is to see that you have emotion. I rather see you laugh, then be in anger,” Eol concluded. Ashley stood and looked at him for a moment. Did you just observer what just happen Eol. She just humiliated me and you ask me not to be upset,” Ashley became intolerant. Eol then told her she was acting like a human, with human emotions, and not logically. That was insulting. Ashley left the great hall and walked through the castle grounds to the throne room, where she sat and thought for a while. Out of nowhere Aragoth appeared and clarified to her that he placed a magical barrier not just around her kingdom, but around the entire Enchanted Mountains. But Ashley just ignored him. Then she turned and said in aste,” That as been done before it as not kept her out.” But this time Aragoth reassured her it was a stronger barrier. “Our sister is mad with power,” Aragoth argued.” “She as our mother. Ashley, she must be dealt with,” Aragoth continued. “If you are so worried about her send the guardians after her,” Ashley restored. Aragoth calmly reminder his sister, they do not intervene in war. Then Ashley snapped at him, “Not that I would not find pleasure offing her head, but why do I feel like a pawn. Am I bringing used by you and the guardians of destiny,” Ashley demanded. “Aragoth you have more power than me. All you have to do is send her as far as possible, in cased in crystal or send her to the forest of redemption, for eternal punishment. Why ask me to do your biding,” Ashley argued with him. “It is not our way. Your mother is being held,” Aragoth started. “You mean our mother,” Ashley interrupted “Yes our mother gave us purpose. To protect the elven laws, the laws of the elite Devine, for which we came from. We are not warriors,” Aragoth vexed Ashley. Then Aragoth named them all off one by one, “Numia is Guardian of history, Vivanna the serer and keeper of the future and faints. Aristia the guardian, of creation and of the ambrosian fields. Aoni the guardian of magic and Harmony the guardian of the mountains and peace. Juliette is the guardian of the children and the innocent as well as the nymphs and water. Max is the guardian of the clouds and the sky and the light. Lorlia the is the guardian music and vibrations, she is entrusted with the sacred lullaby. Amras he is charge of the Enchanted Knights and woodland spirits. Simon he is the guardian of the forest and animals. Gather, he is the Protector of the sun and it’s all art and ruins. And I Aragoth the first son of Athos is head of the authority and overseer of all. I have the only communication with our father thus far,” Aragoth spoke in one breath. Ashley was growing tired. “You need not remind me of thing I know well, brother,” She said as she walked away from him. “Apparently dear sister you do,” Aragoth retorted. “The guardians of magic and all of them and of the law, there is no guardian of war, except here on this plain and you my dear sister Ashley are! Mother as been training you all your days. Just like the ancestors before us. There are not just twelve guardians there are thirteen, which makes you the guardian of war. That is why you are skilled and we are not. We are here mostly to counsel you in these matters. If we assist you in this then there would be never ending peace. Tribes would come from distant lands and realms to seek our help,” Aragoth finished. “Your descendants will be the guardians of war as well, for you are the only one who was chosen to pass that on. We are not allowed to have children of own. We dwell on top on a mountain, we only exist there, “Aragoth Explained. Ashley was getting real tired of him, real fast. For a second and only a second she wanted to put a curse upon mouth. “We can help, we can assist you as long it does not go against our law. You must fine the strength to defend your kinsmen and protect our realm and the humans,” Aragoth finished. Aragoth disappeared without another word. However in her mind she did question, why the humans needed so much protection, she did not quite understand that. Later that evening, As Ashley sat reflecting on the current state of things. Carrow, Ashley’s most beloved son entered her presence. “What Carrow is something wrong?” Ashley said as she lifted her head. She was sitting in the throne room all alone. She waved her hands and torches appear. “Aldory,” Carrow ranted. She never liked Carrow calling Aldora Aldory. But they were so close, it did not matter. Ashley asked, “Why so worried.” “She had left earlier during your conflict with Cornella and she had not returned,” Carrow revealed. “Oh Carrow, I would not worry. Aldora is a wanderer. She probably went off into the woods, “Ashley suspected. “Mother do you think it’s possible….. Carrow expressed. “That Cornella kidnapped her,” Ashley chuckled and then composed herself. “Mother I do not jest, “Carrow retorted. “What in all the gods would Cornella want with Aldora? “Ashley asked. “For the same reason she kidnapped Aoni,” Carrow answered firmly. Ashley got up and sat back on her throne and said harshly “Carrow do not take that tone with your mother ever like that, or your queen. Aldora as no value to Cornella, besides if she did have value Cornella would not ever attempt to kidnap us ever again. Walk with me in magical gardens my son.” Ashley was invited. Ashley and Carrow strolled the marble golden path, while the moonlight lit their way. Ashley looked and waved to the Princess Luna as she sat on the tip watching below. Ashley looked at her son spoke gently, “do not get me wrong I love your sister as I love all my children, especially you. You and Aldora have been my most cherished. The others have followed different paths, Gallian is not trustworthy. I had high hopes for Aldora. I thought perhaps one day she would take my place as queen, and as a warrior. But I am afraid Aldora as no skill. The laws forbid me to leave my throne to a male. If they did, you would be king.” “But mother, you do not want the headache of rule anymore, “Carrow reminded her. “Yes, yes. But I will, I assure you I will rule again,” Ashley insisted. “On the matter of your sister,” she continued. “She probably went for a walk or ride she will be back.” Aldora was a shy she-elf, she never had friends. She never fit in anywhere. But she would ride her horse all the time to clear her mind or to visit Carrows wife. “Carrow, I would not worry about your sister she does not like the thrill of adventure much. She will be back you will see. Again son ease your mind the barrier is protecting us, I doubt very much Cornella even knows who she is. And I doubt your sister would not ventured out beyond the barrier to look for trouble,” Ashley finished. They both then returned to there home. But Carrow still had uneasy feeling…..
