Ask and command me of things to come Isaiah 45:11-12; One of the principles of walking with God is to know His will and to appreciate His will and then work tirelessly within His will. He even accepts to be commanded by mere mortals who knows His will and joyfully abide in His will. We can command Him when we are Joyfully abiding and Joyfully appreciating His will. We have an awesome power when we follow Him in doing His will not grudgingly, not of constraint, nor of necessity, but with a cheerful heart. The cardinal point of Christianity is Knowing His will and abiding in it. Isaiah 44:24- 28 The will of God for Jerusalem was that it shall be inhabited and that the exiled Jews would return to repossess the Land. He raised Cyrus the Great king of Persia up to fulfill this purpose. While trying to fulfill this purpose God promised that He will frustrate the token of the liars, and will make all opposing Diviners mad. He promised to dry up rivers that will stand in the way of His messenger that He had sent to fulfill His will. He also promised that He will fulfill all the words of His messenger. This is the background of the topic we are examining. Isaiah 45:11-15 "Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts. Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God. Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour." This scripture is preceded by "Thus says The Lord ". Who is this Lord? He is the Holy one of Israel and the God that created Jacob, called him, multiplied him and made him to become a nation called, Israel. He is the Mighty God who turned a cheat and a deceiver into a solid foundation of a Nation called Israel by overlooking his past errors and craftiness; He is the same One that says concerning anything that is the works of my hand you can command me. This is in line with His promises all over the Bible. Jeremiah 31:9-14 God emphasized the special privilege of Israel and declared that as a father I will consider the tears and the pleas of my children. I will rescue them and bring them back to walk by a) brooks of water and they will be thirsty no more b) I will lead them by straight paths wherein they will not have occasion to stumble. C) I will satisfy them with goodness. D) I will turn their mourning into jubilation. E) I will comfort and gladden them from their sorrow. This is the will of God under which we have the power to command Him. Romans 8:15-17 We have an outstanding privilege as a New Testament believer because we have been adopted into the Family of God through the Spirit of Adoption and we have become a Joint Heir with The Lord Jesus Christ. Heaven has recognized us as children who are qualified to give undeniable commands to heaven and heaven must respond positively to our request. We can command Heaven not to cooperate with our enemies and Angels will rise up immediately to bring confusion into their camps. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 He gives His Spirit as a guarantee that whatever we ask He will give to us. In Christ and by the manifold operation of the spirit within us all the promises are by all means yea and amen. The Spirit of the Living God has been given to us as a prove and a guarantee that He will always give answers to all our request. 2 Corinthians 5:5-7:- If we know and since we know that God has prepared for us an inheritance we begin to walk by faith and not by sight. We are not moved by what our eyes and our condition is telling us but moved only by what the Spirit of God that dwells within us is telling us. Ephesians 1:11-14 There is a mystery that is only available to those who are born again, because they are able to discern the things that are freely given to them through the unction that is upon them. The Spirit of God gives this unction to know that which is our inheritance and also urge us on until we acquire all our possessions according to the promises.
