He looks light now but has darker gold coloring on his face and legs and should shed out pretty dark and may have dapples. We can see faint dappling under all that winter fuzz. Small star and one white sock on back. No scars, cuts or blemishes. 100% sound and healthy. “Randy” was started last fall ( NOT BY US) with a little ground work and several rides. He was then turned out till a few weeks ago. Selling as green broke. Needs mileage and training. We have pretty much started him over and on our program with more in-depth ground work ( lounging, yielding, sending, desensitizing, confidence building and other basic starting work) and saddle work. has not offered to buck, kick , rear, bolt. Saddle up, lounge a round and go! He will lounge either direction and will yield his hind quarters and face up. Not yet perfect but we are working on getting it perfected. He understands the point and cluck cue to move off in the direction you point. We are desensitizing him daily with tarps, sacks, noise. He was a little nervous when he first came to us ( due to lack of desensitizing and daily handling) but has settled in well and is accepting things we put before him. We are also working with his feet. He has been trimmed in the past but not on a regular schedule. Feet need a good trim and we hope to get him more comfortable with his feet being handled and do that this week. They are long and need a trim but in good condition as far as cracks and splits go. He will stand to be groomed,saddled & mounted. We have ridden him with a side pull and a snaffle bit. Does ok with either. Will walk/trot/canter, stop and back up. He seems to be getting under himself well when asked to stop tho it is no sliding stop yet. He is bred and built to stop and should with more training have a nice slide! If he does not sale we will continue his colt starting and training and his price ( reserve) will go up. We will continue his work this week and hopefully get him out on our obstacle course and around cattle. I will post videos and photo updates as we do so please scroll through all comments under his ad to see them. Our vet was here on Tuesday. Pulled coggins and gave him ALL of his shots. He was also de-wormed then. He is healthy and ready to go and looking for a job to do. I will have all his paperwork from the vet and AQHA in hand, ready to go if he meets the reserve. Pick up will be scheduled for the days/ weekend following end of sale unless other arrangements are made. If he does not meet the reserve I will continue the training and relist later. The only negative thing or quirk I can say about him other than he is young and green would be that he may walk away from you in the pasture when you go to catch him, sometimes he may come to you and other times he will just stand. He is getting fed Tucker Solution twice a day. All of our horses come in the barn and go in their own stalls so they all get what they are intended to, no fighting for feed or getting pushed away.
