Assault Charges We have charged a man in relation to the assault of a Calgary Transit employee and a paramedic in August. During the course of the investigation other assault victims were observed on CCTV footage, and we are hoping they will come forward. On Friday, August 2nd, 2013, at approximately 1:35 a.m., two women sitting on the steps at the Anderson LRT station were approached by a man who briefly spoke to them before assaulting both of them, without provocation. A few minutes later, a Calgary Transit maintenance worker in the same area was approached by what appears to be the same man, and was assaulted without warning. Calgary Transit reported the assault on their employee to police and an investigation utilizing Calgary Transit CCTV revealed the earlier assault on the two women. We have not heard from the two women victims, and are eager to speak with them, or anyone who may have information about these incidents. On Monday, Aug., 19, 2013, just before 6 p.m., a female uniformed paramedic was leaving a coffee shop in the 9600 block of Macleod Trail S.W. when a man shouted obscenities at her and chased her into her personal vehicle. Once in her vehicle she phoned the police, while the man continued shouting obscenities at her and banging on her vehicle window. Kyle Mackenzie, 25, has been charged in relation to the incident involving the LRT employee with criminal harassment and assault. In relation to the female paramedic, he has been charged with criminal harassment. Upon review of CCTV footage, we identified a similar assault occurring on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at approximately 10 p.m., at the Dalhousie LRT station. The victim in this case was wearing a hoodie, and has also not come forward. Anyone who is the victim of an assault is urged to contact police immediately.
