Asylsökande och migranter i Europa planerar en marsch till Europaparlamentet som ska ske i juli 2014. Kraven är rätt till asyl, rörelsefrihet och avskaffande av Dublinförordningen: EUROPEAN MEETING TO THE EUROPEAN CARAVAN FOR ASYLUM / NO TO THE DUBLIN CAGE and FOR FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT The drama of more than 360 people, including women, children and men who lost their lives in the Mediterranean sea, on the Lampedusa shore in southern Italy (or in other countries such as Malta, Spain, Greece, etc ... ) is the evidence of the failure of Europe’s repressive and restrictive policies : the Dublin directive on asylum, the Frontex system, the deportation prisons ; etc ... The lives of men, women and children are broken, forced to deal with this trip for reasons related to the wars, often supported and financed by the Western economies or the main consequences of structural adjustment policies imposed by international institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to southern populations of the world, always at the cost of our people. Despite this terrible scenario, Europe denied once again the asylum right, with the new Regulation No 604/2013 amending the previous Regulation No 343/2003, commonly known as Dublin. All of this takes place in a social context of economic crisis, while racism and discrimination against migrants, refugees and Roma keep rising ( in Greece, France , Italy, Hungary , Malta, Spain and other countries ) as well as the exploitation of migrant labour force and the attacks against workers rights and popular classes of society. We believe that the illusion of being able to stop the movement of people by an increased control and repression is only meant to fool the public and the citizens. Because moving is a necessity. Particularly when one escapes war and hunger. Yesterday, we expressed these reasons by organizing the first « march » accross European countries from Brussels to Strasbourg in 2012, through Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany , Switzerland and finally Italy with the International Coalition of illegal migrants ( CISPM ) . Today, we want to call again these same demands, inviting all Sans-papiers/migrants movements, refugees / asylum seekers, anti-racist activists, unions, associations and political forces to participate and build together the first CARAVAN FOR THE RIGHT TO ASYLUM / NO TO THE CAGE DUBLIN AND FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT. A CARAVAN starting from Italy ( approximatively in July 2014, date of the introductory session of the new European Parliament) as well as other interested countries ( France, Germany, Belgium, etc ... ) to Strasbourg, where delegations of refugees asylum seekers, sans papiers / migrants and antiracist activists will go for a major European event to the European Parliament, together with a meeting with the President of the European Parliament the CARAVAN’s demands : ASYLUM / NO TO CAGE DUBLIN AND FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT.
