At 00:30 on the 16th of September, Yelverton appliance was called to an RTC Assist at horrabridge. On arrival the crew found a car that had clipped the dege and spun across the road. Fortunately it hadn’t collided with any vehicles travelling the other way and had remained on all four wheels. The driver was sitting in another vehicle suffering from a sore foot and neck, as we offered medical assistance the Ambulance Service arrived and took over casualty handling leaving the crew free to make the care safe, control the traffic and clear the road. The concern with incidents like these is that a relatively minor RTC will cause a far more serious incident through traffic queing around the blind bends down past Horrabridge to Magpie bridge. While we cleared the raod a further accident occured back toward Horrabridge when a vehicle suffered a blow out and clipped a telegraph pole and the kerb rendering it undriveable. As no one was hurt and the vehicle was off the road with only minor damage we left the incident in the hands of the police.
