At Christmas time as we enjoy all the blessings of this season and celebrate the birth of our Savior it is so very heavy on my heart that we as a Christian nation (83% of Americans polled are Christian, ABC News Poll July 18, 2014) MUST do every thing we possibly can to help persecuted Christians around the world! Putting our faith in action by praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ and every human being who is being persecuted is vital at this time in our history. Additionally, every one of us can sign this petition and so much more! There are so many ways as American Citizens that we can speak up for our brothers and sisters in Christ and all those being persecuted to encourage our government to do everything they can to intervene and save these people! As I read all the stories and watch the news about this horrific mass persecution, I am reminded of the many times I watched Schindlers list and cried my heart out. I remember how deeply his loving, selfless, passionate efforts to save the Jewish people from Nazi persecution affected me. I remember thinking that if ever that type of persecution happened in my generation I would want to be a Schindler. We as free American Citizens all have that opportunity! Every one of us can follow in his footsteps and do everything in our power to aid in rescuing our fellow humans from this genocide! As Christians we must do more. We can’t be silent in the face of this utter evil. We must demand that our own government defend persecuted Christians.
