At almost this exact hour 3 years ago, I woke up to rising flood waters. There was already more than 1 foot of water in my basement and it was rising toward the front out our house. We were told wed have to evacuate very soon. As Kristin gathered the kids and enough clothes for a few days, I scrambled to move valuable items up to the 2nd floor. By the time we got out of the house, water on the street level was up to our thighs. While I was carrying a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old, Kristin carried our luggage. As we planned our next move, we discovered almost EVERY Bloomsburg resident was trying to evacuate the town. The flood that many people thought wouldnt come for 100 years was here. Ultimately, we lost many personal belongings - all of which were replaceable - and were displaced for the next 3 months. However, we were also blessed tremendously by so many people during a difficult time in our lives...and we continue to thank God.
