At last years Childrens Parliament we had dialogues regarding the need as a society to change the way we engage with our children and young people. Bearing in mind that children also bear the same responsibilities and challenges our country faces that is; child homicide, rape, abduction and trafficking are all issues that threaten quality livelihoods and development of children. That the nature of violent crimes committed to children takes away the joy, love and wellbeing of any child who experiences some form of violence in his/her life. Child centered discussion held during commissions highlighted that violence against children in the country takes place within different settings: the home, community, school, Childcare centres and within the justice system. Overall, children argued that primary settings where children play, live and learn are the most fundamental places to begin preventative measures against violence.
