At letter from the homeowner next to the Ham Radio Tower erected - TopicsExpress

At letter from the homeowner next to the Ham Radio Tower erected with the blessing of the City.....we need to see that the Tower is taken down!!!!! Thank you all for your comments. I am not on Facebook and did not contact the newspaper or start a petition, but as my property is only 43 feet from the ends of the antenna on top of the tower, I am likely the most affected party, so I’ve been following the comments daily, and I see there are some misunderstandings I should correct. Some have wondered what’s the harm, so let me tell you. Seeing the huge and ugly structure in the views from all my living room and dining room windows, and feeling assaulted by its presence above the deck that we loved to use, are two harms. Plus our hillside, where I used to go to be with nature, has its gorgeous views now totally marred by the intrusion. The structure is so close and so big that, as visitors have told me, our property now seems like an industrial area. The thing is overpowering! And it shakes in the wind, squeaking loudly. And then there’s the EMF radiation that the very powerful set-up is capable of transmitting. It is just too close to my house and it can emit dangerous levels. FCC guidelines could easily be exceeded. This is a fact. It is too big and powerful to be so close. And because of its size, if it fell, parts could land in my yard! As for nicely asking my ‘tower’ neighbor to do something, please know that all of us were friendly before, yet neither I nor the other neighbors were notified of his plans to erect a Ham antenna. He is an intelligent man and he had to know the negative impact this would have on my property, especially, but he did it anyway. What, then, should I reasonably expect of him? Also, the thousands of people each year who exit the Sunrise trail adjacent to the tower/antenna cannot avoid seeing it, and they are shocked by it. How is this good for Sedona? Importantly, and sadly, after 27 years with my beloved life-mate, I am now alone and must sell our older, modest for the area, home. Views are, or were, its most remarkable feature. Both he and I loved our view home, but I cannot afford to keep it, and I really need the full value it was supposed to bring. However, the realtor now thinks that such will not happen due to the huge tower/antenna being so close, so big, and so worrisome to most people. If it stays, the house will have to be listed for much less, which will hurt me greatly, and even worse, it may not sell. So, for those of you who seem supportive of the ‘tower,’ I must assume that you just didn’t know the facts, for how could you possibly think any of this is fair? I have not harmed anyone, yet my rights are being hugely violated... and Sedona is being diminished. Please, let’s work together and… Take Down the Tower! Thank you for any support you can offer.
