At school today kids and teachers alike dressed as a character from a book and then special guests read some of their favorite books to each class. One of the kids in my class dressed as Johnny Appleseed including the pot for a hat and an apple seed bag. It was a great costume. I wore a prairie teachers calico dress as a teacher in the Little House on the Prairie series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. One of my students asked if I could wear the dress again because as I walked around on the playground today in my late 1800s attire during recess duty he said, and I quote, You looked like a really rich lady from another time in your dress and black coat. Fun was had by all!
