At the site of the pygmy-possum grant there isn`t much - TopicsExpress

At the site of the pygmy-possum grant there isn`t much bio-diversity because of 2 fires in 50 years so we are attempting to increase the bio-diversity of the area to make it a better home for the wildlife. Besides the feral acacias and boxthorn, the most obvious re-growth has been Olearia axillaris, (Blue-bush/Coast daisy-bush) and acacias, Ac. nematophylla, (Coast wallowa, is quite widespread), and flowering atm is Leucopogon parviflorus, (Coastal Bearded-heath). In that area is quite a swampy stretch which has a carpet of a fairly rare local plant, Distichlis distichophylla, (Emu/ salt grass) and Filicina sp. (Nobby Club-rush)covers a large area in some places. There`s also some Samphire in the wetter parts too. Interesting!
