At the top of the hour on Northern Michigans News Leader 9&10 News at 5:00: Michigan State Troopers arrested Richard McKenzie Jr. He is accused of shooting and killing his father, Richard McKenzie. McKenzie Jr. faces life in prison if convicted of 1st degree murder. Alyssa Gambla has continuing coverage on this story at the top of the hour. People in #GrandTraverse County will be voting on a 911 surcharge increase next week. The surcharge is meant for landlines, cell phones and voice over Internet services in the county. Breelynn Martin spoke with the deputy director of Central Dispatch about the changes. Strong winds this evening will settle down tonight.
