Athens Flying Week Sep22-28- 2014 Announcing the commencement of the Athens Flying Week 2014 and Air Show (Sep 22-28, 2014) (https://facebook/events/569229496537740/) This is going to be the biggest ever aviation event in the city of Athens and will include a variety of shows and events including the pavilion in Syntagma Square (already in place), the Athens Flying Week Conference which is completed now at the Caravel Hotel, the Pre-show which will be open to the public and will take place on Thursday (Sep 25) afternoon in the coastal suburb of Phaleron and will include a preview of the main show which will take place at the Tatoi AFB from Sep 26 to Sep 28. For me, being an aviation fan this is a time of high excitement that I wish to share with you. So, most of my posts from now until, the end of the week will have this show as well as aviation, both civilian and military, as their major theme. Posts will be in English so that my international friends and especially relatives to take notice. The opening song by Mike Oldfield is one of my top and describes the agony of a small planes pilot who is trapped in heavy weather and he has only five miles out to push though the storm and reach the airport where hell be celebrating when hell be down and breaking. Back in the old days, flying was looked as a kind of magic. Today its the man, the machine, aptitude and physics. And the inner flame to climb to the skies. ...and the magics still there.
