Attended a sort of economic discussion about Vietnams strategy and preparation for joining all the free trade zones. I used to have so much passion about economic topics and talks, yet these economists in Vietnam are just so...boring! The content is repetitive and lacking, the delivery is so hyperbolic and unpractical. A few observations: 1) Lacking macro view, discussion of best practices, 2) lacking micro view, discussion of specific real examples or actions address current challenges, 3) lacking critical analysis, real assessment of the current challenges Vietnam face and how to deal with it realistically and actually, not just in theory, in best wishes; and all the talk consists a lot of the self-praise (praising Đảng và nhà nước) even though it does not fit the context, it seems that part is requirement Just a few other observations; the schools program is in partnership with Thailand; no offense, but I do believe in the best, and we should be studying from Taiwan, S Korea, or even Singapore etc. The forum at the University does not have wifi...Im a bit taken aback when even a small cafe shot has wifi; it does show something about the mindset and thinking of the university here.
