Attention Boys Elite U14/U18. Carlsbad Elite will be having two European Identification Camps on June 17th & July 15th. The June 17th session will take place from 1pm-2:30pm at Aviara Community Park. Pro Soccer Consulting (PSC Ltd) and Carlsbad Lightning are proud to announce that for a second year they will be bringing Professional European Coaches over to California to coach and identify youth players from the Carlsbad Lightning Elite program. Last year Lightning players had the opportunity to work with coaches from Aston Villa FC, Middlesbrough FC (England) and Fylingsdalen FK (Norway). The camps saw two players identified from the Lightning Elite head to Holland and Denmark. This year the best players selected from 2013 camps will be heading to Sweden to showcase against professional teams from around Scandinavia. Travelling across the Atlantic this June / July from England will be Birmingham City FC Director of Youth Recruitment Mark Spooner as well as former Sundsvall, Orebro (Sweden Premier League) and Sandefjord (Norwegian Premier League) Head Coach Patrick Walker. 2012 Carlsbad Elite Camp Video - pscsocceracademy.net/gallery/video/mediaitem/33-psc-elite-id-camp-for-carlsbad-elite The first of these clinics will be on June 17th from 1pm-2:30pm at Aviara Community Parkand lead by Mark Spooner from Birmingham City. Birmingham City are an English League Championship club who played in the premiership as recently as 2011 when they also won the League Cup, beating title challenging Arsenal 2 – 1 in the final. PSC have worked closely with Birmingham City FC in recent years as the English club helped host a recent tour organized by PSC to England as well as recruiting one of the attendees from last year’s Los Angeles ID Camp: pscsocceracademy.net/news/item/52-youth-id-camp-player-trains-in-england#.UPPY3Ccj4nk. The second clinic will follow on July 15th (time and location TBC) and will be lead by Patrick Walker. The UEFA Pro Level A license coach has an extensive record of coaching with professional clubs in Sweden, including spells with Kalmar, GIF Sundsvall, Orebro and Assyriskawhilst he also had great success in Norway leading Sandefjord to promotion to the Norwegian Premier League (Tippeligaen) in 2010. His playing career included spells with Gillingham (England) and top Irish side Bohemians, before finishing his career in Sweden BKHacken and GIF Sundsvall.
