Attention all Security Officers, there has been a change to the national training requirements, please see below: On 1 July 2014, the chief executive of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General approved the removal of the national minimum training requirements for class 1 - security officer (monitoring) licences. This amendment is in line with a decision made by the Standing Council on Police and Emergency Management at the 7-8 November 2013 meeting. Applicants for the security officer (monitoring) licence category will still be required to meet all probity requirements to determine suitability, including a criminal history check. Removal of the training assessment to the monitoring sector has been in direct response to the government accepting feedback from the security industry. This is in an ongoing effort to further reduce red tape within the industry.
