August 1, 2014 Postdoctoral Fellowship in Aquatic Animal Health - Pacific Biological Station, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada A highly-qualified applicant is sought for a post-doctoral position in the Aquatic Animal Health Section at the Pacific Biological Station, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. The successful candidate will work with virologists and parasitologists to investigate pathogen interactions in salmon. This research is part of a broader goal of understanding the role of disease in salmon ecology and conservation. We are seeking a candidate with proven skills and experience in quantitative gene expression and bioinformatics and the use of finfish as a research model. The candidate will be highly motivated to publish their findings, will be collaborative and will demonstrate leadership in the training of junior laboratory workers. Subject to funding, the project will start no earlier than September 2014 with a minimum duration of 1 year. Review of applications will begin immediately.
