August 1st will be 9 years since I decided to take over my friend Chris Bavotas DVD shop and attempt to make money, get out of the bar industry, and preach the good word B-movies to the fine people of this city. 2 out of those 3 did not happen but getting to bring these films to you guys has made it worth it regardless. To all those who have supported me over the years I say thank you. I have witnessed 18 year gore hounds grow up in front of my eyes who now love the more subtle genre films. DEDFest was created from this store, The Last Video Store series and film started from this shop. Friendships have started from this shop. I guess in the end money comes and goes but this store has given more than that, it has given me an identity of what my skill is...recommending sweet cinema and if you disagree well talk it out and hopefully you will see the light...or not. :) Either way, feel free to swing by tomorrow and say hi. Also since its an anniversary it will be a buy 2 movies, get a 3rd one free.
