~~~~~August 4th Announcements~~~~~ West Prince Art Show and Sale - paintings, photographs, quilts and woodworking of more than a dozen local artists at the Alberton Arts & Heritage Centre, July 15th - Aug 18th, Mon to Sat 9-4. Ticket sales for draws for donated works. Admission by donation. “The Rock” 2013 Maritime Tour! The Rock is a United Church ministry based in Murray River, PEI. The band plays contemporary rock songs, but changes the lyrics to reflect a Christian message. This tour The Rock will also be revealing some of their own original material. Aside from the band leader (student minister Keith Gale) and the local choir director (Karen Burhoe), the rest of the eight members of the band are all 16 years old or younger. Over the last two years, this ministry has nurtured some phenomenal musical talent – enjoying their passion is an experience you won’t soon forget. They will be performing at Memorial United Church, Murray River on Thursday, August 15th at 7 PM. The women of the pastoral charge, who arrange funeral receptions wish to thank all those who have helped with the three recent receptions (as well as those in the past). Your help with hall set-up, supplying food and providing assistance in the kitchen is greatly appreciated and could not happen without the help of the whole pastoral charge. When receptions after funerals are requested, volunteers for food and assistance is always greatly appreciated. Thank you. ~ Events to Come ~ August 22nd: Camp Abby Golf Tournament, major fund raiser we hold each year at Glasgow Hills Golf Club on Thursday, August 22nd with a shot gun start at 1PM. We are seeking golfers, sponsors, and prizes for the participants. Please see poster at back of church for details. Aug 27th-29th: Vacation Bible School at GM is August 27-29th, from 9-12.
