***Available for adoption!*** AVERAGE RATED! When Cherokie’s owner was hospitalized, she was brought to sit in a cage at Manhattan ACC. At two years old, Cherokie has her whole life ahead of her but ACC has her on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. And what a wonderful girl Cherokie is. Medically, she needs to gain a few pounds and she’s limping for reasons not clear. Going through the removal from the only home she’s ever known and then going through an intrusive medical exam can be pretty scary, but Cherokie tried to show off her best manners. And when it came to her behavioral eval, Cherokie showed everybody what a wonderful, sweet girl she is. She aced that eval—1’s and 2’s on all items. And she earned herself a coveted Average rating with the assessor noting “Cherokie did not show any concern during the behavior assessment”. But Cherokie’s caught the “shelter cold” and that’s a route right to tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight this outstanding 2 year old needs to find that one person out there who is ready to give her the life she so deserves. In return, Cherokie will become your bff when you’re blue, will give you unending loyalty and a gazillion doggie kisses. If you’re that special person, then start working on fostering or adopting Cherokie. But it has to be now—at noon tomorrow, ACC won’t hesitate to make this girl gone forever. Cherokie deserves so much better than that.
