Awesome ceremony tonight. So very proud of my sons and nephews. These young teenagers and younger took it upon themselves to build a sweatlodge by themselves. Only asking questions of me or lala when they really needed it. They than invited us to ceremony tonight to pray and renew vows for our new year, as our sundance has recently concluded. They worked for two days to make this possible for our tiospaye. Gathering the wood and rocks today. I had my 14 year old son pour the water tonight and walked him through my teachings throughout the years. He sang some beautiful songs for us. It is amazing that our young people know what they know. This young man also brought a song to our sundance when he was 3 years old. A song that we still use to this day. When I am witness to such beautiful things from our young people.... It gives me hope!!! He once told me..... I was born a Lakota and I could never be anything else! So Im going to be the best Lakota I can!!! For me..... Its almost fate that I was to be in that circle tonight as earlier conversations had really disturbed me and brought me down. I needed this very much tonight. I love you Micinksi!!! Wopila tanka.
