BBC Ten Pieces, a multi-platform initiative to excite and engage children with classical music, launches in Cinemas on the 6 October. Throughout the week there will be screenings throughout the country with 100,000 children estimated to view the film, which will later be made available as a free DVD to schools. Aimed at primary school children, the project will run over the course of an academic year, using ten pieces of music to open up the world of classical music to a generation of children. The aim is to inspire them to develop and share their own creative responses to the works, through composition, dance and digital art.
