BCBS (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) members: Recently you were mailed a blanket letter that went out to all BCBS policy holders (not just you) with some confusing language regarding your covered chiropractic care. The primary reason for this letter was to report BCBS was making some required coding changes to align themselves legally with the imposed Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and HIPAA. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not you are allowed chiropractic care. Unfortunately with the bureaucratic language and the way this letter was sent out, it had the secondary effect of scaring most people that received it into believing they either no longer had chiropractic coverage, or that they had to discontinue their current chiropractic care. Neither of these circumstances is true. You still have coverage, and if you are currently treating, you may continue to treat.
