BLASPHEMY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT; THE UNPARDONABLE SIN One may ask that what is blasphemy? Blasphemy is a word in two folds, blapto, and pheme. Blapto means to injure, and pheme means to speak. Therefore blasphemy means injurious speech. From my undertakings in the Bible, blasphemy has about fifty-nine (59) appearances in various adjectival forms. Quotations such as Matthew 27:39, Mark 3:29, Mark 15:29, Matthew 12:22, Luke 12:10, Mark 3:28-30 etc. talks about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit-which is unforgiven.. There are numerous sins that are forgiven, but Jesus made it clear in the book of Mark that Blasphemy against the Holy spirit is unforgiven. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENERAL BLASPHEMY AND BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT Blasphemy in general, is to speak injuriously against someone, regardless of the persons calibre.It can be gossip, insults, or anything said with the mouth to ridicule one. But blasphemy against the Holy Spirit has a mind of its own. It is speaking against the work of the Holy Spirit. What is speaking against the work of the Holy Spirit? To speak against the Holy Spirit, is to attribute the work of the Holy Spirit through His chosen vessels to the doing of gods or demons. This is exactly what the Pharisees did to Jesus by attributing His works to the doings of Beelzebub, the ruler of demons.., This is what lots of Christians have been doing today. They attribute the prophecies, revelations and acts of Pastors, Bishops, Prophets, Apostles and Evangelists to the doings of some juju they have collected, and therefore deter others from going to them. But the issue is, have you been told anything by God about them? Its true that by their works we shall know them, but for one to pinpoint A or B, it is for another man of Gods duty which ought to be done within a particular context. Because blasphemy against the righteous man of God which you are ignorantly not aware of, entitles you to eternal condemnation, that is unforgiven sin. From today cease to be an attendant to public accusation of MEN OF GOD, but rather pray to God so he will direct who to fellowship with, and who you ought not to fellowship with.
