BREAKING: Thousands of animals are stuck on a troubled live export vessel just off the coast of Western Australia with no end destination yet in sight. Read the article: yhoo.it/1kjPTNu The ship loaded with Australian cattle was originally destined for slaughter in Israel but struck mechanical problems not long after leaving Fremantle a week ago. With only one engine working, the exporter is trying to get approval to head to Vietnam instead of Israel which, while a shorter journey, will still take up to two weeks. As exporters scramble to mitigate another possible PR disaster, the animals on board are facing the added stress and welfare risks of an extended journey at sea. This is the fourth mechanical breakdown of a live export ship in less than 12 months. Every additional day at sea puts these 7,000 cattle at further risk of injury, illness, and death. TAKE ACTION: Call your MP TODAY and ask why animals continue to be put at such high risk for a trade that is totally unnecessary? AnimalsAus.org/F
