BUILDING A BARN FOR GEORGE. The Donkey Refuge has a very Special Donkey named George who requires very Special Needs. Georges previous owner locked George and other Farm animals in a windowless shed for the first 6 years of Georges life. The owner was starving the cow that was one of Georges roommates when they were all rescued in 2012. George arrived at our Refuge in the summer of 2012 with an incomplete gelding which left him with a strong Stud Behaviour and a lack of social skills when it comes to George living in a herd of donkeys. As a result of the abuse George has experienced he must live away from other donkeys with a barn and paddock area to himself. George does have two goat friends Miracle and Finny who keep him company but he yearns to be with other donkey friends. Unfortunately we cannot put George at close proximity to the other donkeys for safety reasons. With this in mind I have promised George a lovely new barn and paddock that he can enjoy at the New Farm in the hopes that we can make up for the very sad past that he has had to endure. We are asking that if anyone is interested in donating towards the Construction of the Fencing around Georges new Barn and paddock to visit canadahelps.org and click on A New Barn for George. Any size donation will help give George a Better Life, a life that George deserves as he really is a very loving and special donkey who has just a had a very bad past.
