BUILDING FIRE IN OUR 1ST DUE Thursday,3/13/14 Stations 21, 17, and Squad 21 were dispatched to Broad Street for a building fire. 21-10 Chief Jack Justice Jr. arrived on location with an attached garage well off and established Broad Street command also upgraded it to a working fire box bringing in Ladder 23, Rescue 22, Engine 16, and RIC 12. 21-2 was the first engine on scene and established the water supply by a nearby hydrant. 21-2s crew also stretched a 2-1/2 to the garage and 1-3/4 to protect the gas service. Engine 21-1 arrived shortly after dropping the supply line from 21-2 to established another water supply due to initial hydrant problems. The crew from 21-1 stretched an additional 1-3/4 off of 21-2 with the assistance of the crew from Engine 17 and advanced into the interior of the home to stop the advancing fire in the attic space. The interior crew rescued a dog and removed her from the house. All hands were in service for approx. 2hrs battling the windy and cold conditions. JOB WELL DONE BY ALL ON SCENE!
