BULLET-PROOF CARS: No discrepancy in Oduah’s probe – Rep Majority Leader The Majority Leader of the House of Representative, Hon. Mulikat Adeola-Akande has said that it would amount to injustice to crucify the Aviation Minister, Ms. Stella Oduah when she has not been found guilty of the alleged N255 million bullet-proof cars scandal. She disclosed that the outcome of the House of Representative’s investigation on the matter would be made public at the appropriate time and assured that there would be no discrepancy in the probe of the controversy surrounding the purchase of the cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Adeola-Akande said this during a brief interview with journalists in Osogbo, Osun State shortly after disbursing cash to 100 women drawn from the 30 local government areas of Osun State as part of her empowerment programme for women in the South-West. She vowed that the probe of the process of buying the N225 million BMW cars which allegedly flouted procurement regulations would be dispassionately investigated. She used the occasion to disabuse the minds of the people who thought the matter would be swept under carpet. The House of Representative’s Majority Leader then called on women at all level to increase their participation in politics so that there would be more women in position of authority in the next political dispensation. Speaking on the crisis rocking the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Adeola-Akande hinted that there have been moves to resolve the misunderstanding among the top hierarchy of the part and that there would be unity in the party before the next election. She described the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Dialogue as a welcome development and commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his decision on the national dialogue. She called on all Nigerians to take the advantage of the national dialogue to expressed their mind. -Daily Trust
