Back in 2003, someone stole my information and opened up an Insight account in my name. I did not know this until 3 years later when it popped up on my credit report that I owed them $400. I immediately called Insight to report this. They told me the steps I needed to take to have them take it off. I did everything I was told...got proof that I didnt live where the service was at, proof of my identity, filed Police report, and some other things. Gave Insight the 30 day period I was told to give. Here it is 8 years after doing all of that and it is still on my credit when I looked at my report last night, but it is no longer listed as Insight...TWC just hit my credit report about 2 weeks ago for this. I am going to call them tomorrow. Does anyone know if this is even legal for TWC to do? Insight had previously told me over the years that they now cant take it off because no one has been caught and prosecuted for using my info. Anyone know what else I can legally do? I refuse to pay them $400 for service I never had in a place I never lived. I have been fighting this since 2006...any help is appreciated.
