Bailey bridge constructed at Likuveer , traffic to restore by Midnight Mukesh Sharma, Kalimpong, 16th July: As announced yesterday the straight traffic at NH 31 A landslide zone at Likuveer 18 kms from Kalimpong remained close throughout the day. A 60 Feet long double Bailey bridge construction started right from 5 am this morning which has been continued till now. Gref Commander Navin Kumar was today present and was the one whose under the work was done. Many passengers from Sikkim complained about the driver who did not inform them about the condition of the road. Pankaj Chakrabarti from Assam who along with four other left Sikkim this morning told that his driver left him at diversion route at Tista from where he had to walk 2 kilometer to transit from landslide area and go to Siliguri. Apart Alisha Roy Choudary too complained that she was not feeling well and despite requesting to duty person at diversion route to let her vehicle allow to go nearer to landslide zone she was denied and even she said that they try to hit my husband. The Sikkim and Kalimpong bound small vehicle used Tista via Peshok route and bigger vehicle used Lava via Gorubathan route to reach Siliguri. The road is expected to open by late mid night according to GREF officials.
