Balancing the Ajna (Third Eye) The imaginative - TopicsExpress

Balancing the Ajna (Third Eye) The imaginative abilities—visualizing the past, creating positive pictures of the future, and fantasizing—are all aspects of Ajna Chakra, whose Sanskrit name means both “the perception center” and “the command center.” Associated with the element light and the color indigo blue, the Sixth Chakra is located between and just above the physical eyes, creating the spiritual Third Eye. While our two eyes see the material world, our Sixth Chakra sees beyond the physical. This vision includes telepathy, intuition, dreaming, imagination, and visualization. The Ajna is involved in both the creation and perception of art and in the recognition that what we see has a powerful impact on us. Even when we’re not aware of it, we’re all sensitive to the images we find in our environment. Therefore it is very important to be selective when we choose what we expose ourselves to. Excessiveness in this chakra. may lead to headaches, hallucinations, nightmares, and difficulty concentrating. When the Third Eye on the other hand is deficient, we have a poor memory, experience eye problems, have difficulty recognizing patterns, and can’t visualize well. Asanas like the BabyPose will press upon and stimulate the third eye area. Also creating positive images and visualizations is a practice that helps create a healthy Third Eye. Such affirmative visions act as natural magnets, drawing the imagined situation into your life. What the Third Eye like: Positive Affirmations: I can see and think clearly, I see that all is well in my world. I am the creator of my reality and my dreams are coming true. I am one with the vibration of God. Colour: The third eye chakra is associated with the colour indigo. Simply lighting this colour of candle and relaxing while focusing on this chakra can bring it into balance. Surrounding yourself with this colour can bring harmony within the chakra. Organs/Glands: Brain, neurological system, eyes, ears, pituitary gland, pineal gland. Nutrition: Brain foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids, such as fish, nuts, and vegetables are all great choices. Dark chocolate (which contains caffeine) not only helps with our mental clarity, it also can also help us feel more relaxed and help lower high-blood pressure. We should always intuitively eat, as our body knows what it needs. Certain berries, (blueberries and strawberries) are shown to have a positive influence over our memory and ability to learn! Berries contain powerful antioxidants that help us in our cognitive thinking and reasoning. Essential oils: Angelic root, clary sage, cypress, frankincense, juniper, marjoram, patchouli, rosemary, sandalwood, vetiver Healing the Third Eye with Nature: The Ajna’s element is light. Sitting out in the sunshine with a blue sky can not only balance your third eye, but the throat chakra as well. You will be able to feel the sun radiate through if you focus your attention on the spot just above your eye brows!
