Barbering Program Comes to D. W. Waters Career Center! News flash: DW. Waters Career Center will be offering Barbering beginning 2014-2015: Students who are interested must be willing to commit to three (3) years or Have Barbering or Cosmetology credits from on your transcript prior to enrollment Maintain at least 90% attendance. Receive no discipline referrals for severe or aggressive behavior Be willing to take some academic courses beyond the regular school day. The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as restricted barbers. Instruction is designed to qualify students for employment upon successfully passing the Florida Restricted Barber or Barber License Examination. The content includes, but is not limited to, communication skills, leadership skills, human relations skills and employability skills, safe and efficient work practices; Florida barber law and rules, knowledge of barbering and its related chemistry, bacteriology, anatomy and physiology; development of skill in performing the manipulative technique required in the practice of barbering. Listed below are the courses that comprise this program when offered at the secondary level. Students may complete the program by enrolling in the Erwin Technical Center’s program.
