Be careful who you entrust your dogs with. Although accidents can happen at any facility and with any trainer, this sounds like a serious case of animal abuse. Even if the dog had serious human dog aggression issues, theres no reason to physically fight with the dog, at that level, on day 2 of boot camp. Id love to know how intense the nipping case really was but whatever he did to cause this dogs death was unnecessary, unfair to the animal, which had no bond with the trainer at day 2 and unprofessional. Even at the level is self defense, I cant see how a professional would allow this to happen in the first place. Since our profession is not regulated, anyone can call themselves a dog trainer, anyone can get certified, by another self made organization, and pay their membership dues, and anyone can advertise. It means absolutely nothing but it looks good on paper. This is why its so important to get referrals, talk to satisfied customers, hire someone who has an impeccable customer service track record and facility and to finally listen to your gut. Ive heard of so many horror stories, I can write a book. Good to hear this guy got jail time, which reminds me... Complete K-9 Academy - our criminal record is clean. Lol
