I made a new friend today during typical 5pm Friday rush hour - TopicsExpress

I made a new friend today during typical 5pm Friday rush hour traffic. You’ll understand why that detail is important soon. His name is Kevin; unfortunately I won’t ever see him again! He had abandoned his 35 foot semi-truck in the middle of a lane in Bellevue. He approached me while I pumped my gas out of sheer desperation for directions to his desired destination in the Bellevue area. I, just like everyone else in this WORLD has an OPTION to help people who are in desperate situations. Immediately I admitted my general geographic competence but offered to help by showing him what my GPS recommended for a route. He was quickly disappointed when he realized the route was still alas very complex that involved inevitably turning around in the tight streets within Bellevue. Then I told him indeed I could still offer him the chance to follow me while I lead the way. I made a positive choice by taking 40 minutes of my day to lead him to his destination. I stepped outside of my car 3 times during the difficult turns to approach and temporarily interrupt the traffic flow so Kevin could make the tough turns. From 5:00 to 5:30 we navigated the turns together until the driver from Canada got to his Bellevue car mechanic shop. Let me ask you this: do you think that 30 minutes was worth my time? What could YOU help people with, can you use your imagination? THAT’S RIGHT. An Eagle Scout doesn’t stop being “helpful” after he leaves his troop, because that’s a scout’s honor!!! Boy scout represent say what???
