Be part of (if not the total) solution, instead of the - TopicsExpress

Be part of (if not the total) solution, instead of the problem. Heres the essence of being an entrepreneur: Be a problem solver - 1) the bigger the problems you can solve and 2) the more people can benefit from it, the more successful you will be. Thats why I believe in this simple quote by Zig Ziglar: You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want. Sadly most people focus on themselves and what they want instead of focusing on serving their market and helping them get what their market want and need. Eg. Previously, when we were looking for assistant bakers, we had many young people applied. A lot of them, even those with no experience whatsoever, asked for special hours, special arrangements, etc... before letting us know how they could contribute to our growth. Lots of times when we asked further they revealed that they didnt have any relevant experience. They just wanted what they wanted. Instead of becoming part of the solution, they became part of the problem. Unfortunately, this type of attitude is becoming more and more prevalent even in the office workers. They demand first, before offering value. They become part of the problem, instead of the solution. Let me be clear... There is nothing wrong with knowing your worth and asking for what you think you deserve. But know this: The reason others are interested to engage your services is because they have a problem they need solving. If you demand things even before letting them know what you bring to the table (your value), you add to their problems instead of providing a solution. Most likely you wouldve turned them off. Know this as well: Those who are part of the problem, instead of the solution, will never get far. They might get ahead a little. Climbed the ladder a little. Even moved further in the beginning. But they will get stuck under a metal ceiling... never going anywhere fast. Because their focus is on themselves, instead of serving their market. At the end of the day, those who focus on providing the solution, adding value and BEING the solution will always be the top winners. So focus on being the solution. And stop being part of the problem. The powers that be will find you so refreshingly different that youll get much further and faster that way. Make sense? Share it so others can benefit as well. :)
